Family Time

I’m still not totally used to this new schedule…Cole in Kindergarten and Chris at work, not school.  I think we all expected that with Chris working things would be as stressful as they were in school.  I’m happy to tell you, though, that we are transitioning well into this non-school life and it’s anything but stressful and busy…it’s wonderful!

We have time for neighborhood walks after dinner, weekend projects, dinner with friends, helping friends move, and watching football.  We have time to relax on the porch swing after bedtime, time to go hiking,  or time to go ride bikes…which we did today!  We took our wheels to the B-Line trail, which runs through downtown Bloomington, and went for a ride.  The boys and I gave Chris a skateboard for his birthday last month, so he’s been eager to ride.  It was brisk outside, but so refreshing!   The boys were surprisingly excited to get out their jeans and sweatshirts.

Max has been excited to learn to skateboard since watching Chris, so the other night Chris taught him some basics on our neighborhood walk.  He took to it really well, and is already asking for his own board for Christmas.  I am so thankful that we have lots more time as a family now.  I hope I never take that for granted!

  1. This post made me smile, Anne! I love how you’re all having more time as a family–what a blessing!

And wow, that’s so neat that the painting on my blog was in your grandparent’s kitchen. You’re blessed with such a RICH heritage.

    Talk to you soon!
